§ Design note
  1. 01Light for a Public Square. Light gives the busy urban plaza a warm, welcoming night identity that suits crowds, street performers, and the everyday gathering at the heart of downtown.
  2. 02Canopy of Light. An array of fixtures fans out over the square from a central point, forming a canopy of light that shapes the open space without poles on the ground.
  3. 03Festive and Everyday. Warm festoon strings between the buildings give the square a festive character that suits both an ordinary evening and events.
§ Technical notes
  1. 01Catenary Lighting. Fixtures are suspended on a network of tensioned cables spanning the square, keeping the plaza floor and historic facades clear of poles.
  2. 02Linear LED Luminaires. Linear LED luminaires mounted along the radial cables wash the square below with even light.
  3. 03Decorative Festoon Strings. Warm festoon strings are strung between the surrounding buildings, adding a decorative layer of light above the street.
  4. 04Facade-Anchored Mounting. Plates and anchors fix the cable network to the surrounding stone buildings, with discreet hardware suited to a historic streetscape.
